Playlists per artists

FRENCH POETS

I love Thiéfaine's delirious yet sensitive poetry. Murat moves me to the depths of my soul. Bashung is fascinating, a chameleon over the albums.

VELVET IN 3 VIEWS

Any Velvet Underground fans in the room? This great group of the 60s led by Lou Reed made 3 types of music: soft beautiful lullabies, electrifying rock and intense experimental compositions. Here are 3 playlists that bring together every aspect of this great group. One of my all time favorites.

SONG CRAFTING

Some artists are real magicians, capable of creating magnificent songs, with memorable melodies and tunes that remain anchored in our brains so skillfully they are designed. Here are a few.

GUITARS AND SONGWRITERS

Three big ones. Each in their own way.

JJ Cale was the coolest of the cool guys.

Mark Knopfler has the cleanest touch of all guitarists.

Tom Petty was the most inspired southern rocker.

PUNKS IN THE SOUL

Just because it's punk doesn't mean it's nonsense and cahos!

These great artists knew how to combine passion and riot.

All the way!

THE BEATLES IN ALL THEIR SPLENDOR

I carry a fascination for the Fab Four, whether in groups or individually. Here are some playlists that highlight their genius. Nothing less!

DES ARTISTES QUE J'ADMIRE

Ils ou elles ont des carrières épatantes, des démarches artistiques pertinentes, font de la musique inspirée... Voici quelques-un(e)s de mes préféré(e)s

Playlists by genres

SAD GIRL FOLK POP

Here is an interesting subgenre, and rather recent.

A few years ago, soft and painful folk took up more and more space (Bon Iver, etc.). Several young women got into it and created a genre of their own. Info here.

BLUES, ALWAYS BLUES!

As a teenager, I fell into the blues, this authentic, suffering music, so beautiful! First by British rockers (Clapton, Led Zep...) then going back to the source of electric blues, Chicago (where I had the great pleasure of going) and acoustics (the Mississippi delta).

HYPONOTIZED BY REGGAE

In recent years, I have become more interested in reagge. Particularly the so-called "roots", recorded around the years 1976 to 1982. It was the perfect time for this kind of music to mature, propelled by the worldwide success of Bob Marley, of course. I like to find good old vinyl records from that era...
